We excavate to a minimum 12 inches, lay 8 to 10 inches of compacted granular A base in lifts, then 1 inch of screeded bedding sand before setting pavers in your chosen pattern. Walkways & Garden Paths
Front walkways are the first thing visitors see. We design walkways that complement the home's architecture, from simple running-bond soldier courses to curved herringbone paths with contrasting borders. A standard walkway requires 6 to 8 inches of compacted base, proper slope for drainage away from the foundation, and soldier-course edging to keep the pattern locked.
Patios & Outdoor Living Areas
Interlock patios create usable outdoor space for dining, entertaining and relaxation. We build patios from 100 square feet to over 1,000, with integrated steps, seat walls and fire pit pads as needed. Proper grading ensures water drains away from your home at a minimum 2% slope.
Pool Decks
Pool surrounds require slip-resistant, heat-reflective pavers and precise grading so that water drains away from both the pool and the house. We use textured or tumbled pavers in lighter colours to reduce surface temperature underfoot in summer.
Retaining Walls
Grade changes across a property need structural support. We build retaining walls using interlocking wall block systems from manufacturers like Permacon, Rinox and Techo-Bloc. Walls over 24 inches require geogrid reinforcement, proper drainage behind the wall and compacted granular backfill to prevent hydrostatic pressure buildup.

Concrete Pavers
The standard choice for residential and commercial interlocking in Ontario. Available in hundreds of shapes, colours and textures from manufacturers like Permacon, Unilock, Techo-Bloc and Rinox. Concrete pavers carry 8,000+ PSI compressive strength and are rated for vehicular traffic. Colour-through manufacturing means surface scratches do not reveal a different base colour.
Natural Stone
Flagstone, granite and limestone offer a distinctive, organic look. Natural stone costs more per square foot and requires more labour to install due to irregular sizing, but it provides unmatched character. We source locally quarried Ontario stone when possible to keep costs reasonable and reduce transport.
Porcelain Pavers
A newer option growing in popularity, porcelain pavers are extremely dense, stain-resistant and available in finishes that replicate wood, marble or slate. They require a slightly different installation approach with modified adhesives on the setting bed, but the result is a virtually maintenance-free surface.

Consultation & Measurement
We visit your property, take measurements, discuss your goals and assess soil conditions, grading and drainage. You receive a detailed quote with material options, a scaled drawing and a clear timeline.
Design & Material Selection
We help you choose the right paver style, colour and pattern for your home. We bring physical samples so you can see how colours look against your exterior. We confirm the layout, borders and any integration with steps, walls or lighting.
Excavation & Base Preparation
This is the most important step and where shortcuts cause failures. We excavate to the correct depth (8 to 12 inches depending on application), install geotextile fabric to prevent subgrade migration, then lay and compact granular A base in 4-inch lifts to 98% compaction. In Ontario's clay soils, skipping any of this guarantees settling.
Paver Installation & Finishing
Bedding sand is screeded to a uniform 1-inch depth. Pavers are laid in the agreed pattern with consistent joint spacing. Edge restraints are secured with 10-inch spikes. Polymeric sand is swept into joints and activated with water to lock pavers in place and prevent weed growth and ant intrusion.

Weather is a factor in Ontario — we do not install in rain or when temperatures consistently drop below freezing, as polymeric sand requires dry conditions to activate properly.
